Cheaper U135 model pre-loaded with SUSE Moblin
MSI has announced a version of the Wind U135 to be pre-loaded with SUSE Moblin 2.1. Moblin is an open-source Linux based Operating System being developed by Novell. Other companies, like Dell and Acer, have experimented with the Moblin Operating System, but the Wind will be the first Atom processor-based netbook to be shipped with it.
This version of the Wind U135 will have the same exact hardware specs as previously mentioned. It consists of a 10″ LED display, 1.66GHz Atom N450 processor, 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth, 1GB of RAM, and a 250GB Hard Drive.
The U135 with SUSE Moblin is scheduled to be shipped later this month. There is no mention of the price difference between it and the U135 running Windows 7 Starter yet. It will for sure be cheaper, since the OS is open-source.

My guess is that the U135 with Moblin will be priced at $299 US. The regular Wind U135 with Windows 7 will cost $330. This will be an excellent choice for those of us wanting to run OS X Snow Leopard only on it!

It would be great for installing Snow Leopard! Why pay for a Windows license when you aren’t going to use it!

Or better yet, someone who wants to give it to someone who does nothing but surf the web.
