For those who are unaware the USB Removal fix does not work for everyone. We were never able to tack down why.

Staticanime and 18seven were able to load my DSDT on the old forums and USB fix worked perfectly for them, but for many, myself included, it does not work.

Thats why I came up with the Proxi fix.

Dalton, what would be the difference between your DSDT and one created on my machine and edited in the same way for all the patches you described in the first post? What I am trying to say is shall I use yours, or try to build my own?

Thanks very much

It is always better to compile your own, because it would account for the small differences in hardware.

For those who would prefer to build their own what you can do is open my dsdt.dsl file in Text Wrangler, and click compare. Then choose the dsdt.dsl file that you got from your own Wind. Then apply the differences. Obvious not every single one, because then they would be identical, but use the list of patches here to show you which differences to apply.

Great. Will this work if mine is compiled with 10.6 rather than 10.5.
In the first few posts you mention that there is a problem compiling it in snow.
Thanks.

Actually I was incorrect. Actually the problem is that the DSDT from 1.0E bios doesn't have locations for most of these patches. However if you get the DSDT while on .10D then it continues to work with the new bios.

I am having a few problems!
I have made my own dsdt & patched it, twice.
First I compared it using text wrangler to Dalton's and changed the bits relating only to the patches on Page1. There were not too many differences really.
I then tried to use the terminal commands to get a new dsdt.aml file.
It runs, and at the end I get:

ASL Input: dsdt.dsl - 6511 lines, 193769 bytes, 2965 keywords
Compilation complete. 5 Errors, 20 Warnings, 0 Remarks, 31 Optimizations
bash-3.2#

And the dsdt.aml file disappears completely from the Downloads/DSDT_Patcher1.0.1e file.
I have tried this twice now with exactly the same result - I did the whole thing again from the top, thinking that my original dsdt.dsl file was at fault.

I would attach the terminal output but I can't upload attachments ending in .txt, .jpeg, .doc etc.
Any ideas?

It appears to be a problem with the Compilation Error fix. What bios are you currently using?

Yes I have. It seems to work fine, I just wanted my own after you said 'It is always better to compile your own, because it would account for the small differences in hardware.'
Anyway, thanks very much for looking. I have run out of time tonight - try again tomorrow.

Heres my question ,

I never dsdt patched while on 1.0D and just loaded 1.0E today. Should i just use the patched dsdt that was posted? I have the Ralink card so im guessing i need to use the dsdt patched by cyberghoser?

Or would i be better to downgrade my bios to 10.D to get my file and compare/patch myself with the ones posted here?

Thanks for your replies. DSDT patching is whole new world to me...

If you ask me, i am using the one Dalton posted and edited it for my wifi card(just a visual fix) so there should be not problem to use it, however if you want to show the ralink card you need to edit the dsdt.dsl file and compile.
